Since Muslim communities are diverse and Islam is not a monolith, it is useful to look at specific contexts. This talk will focus on Shiite women in Hezbollah Lebanon, discussing how gender roles, hijab, religious revivalism, militancy, sectarianism, and geopolitics are embodied therein.
