The money that UPMC (Fredman says it stands for
U People Must Change) has accumulated each year
is acquired from OVERCHARGING patients and from the Commercial properties they own in Oakland and
all over the city for that matter. UNFORTUNATELY,
it's listed as Tax Free as they are a "non-profit".
They could reduce the % of what I consider UNETHICAL billing and pay up their share of
property taxes on the commercial properties they
collect from for revenue. This would reduce the
burden the rest of have to carry.
$100,000,000 is a damn expensive golf outing.
The city should NOT depend on tainted money. It will come back and haunt us.
