Thinking about going to Braddock Fest? Here's what you need to know:

Saturday night, May 28, the show takes place at the Braddock Elks lodge (424 Library St., Braddock). Longtime North Carolina metal heavyweights Corrosion of Conformity headline; the band is currently touring as a three-piece, with the lineup that recorded Animosity back in 1985. Also on the bill: local '80s-style thrashers Mantic Ritual, Slices (Pittsburgh's self-professed "#1 guitar band"), Question, Hounds of Hate and Zeitgeist. The cost is $14. The show is all-ages, but you must, of course, be 21 to drink. Doors open at 5 p.m., music begins at 6.

Sunday night, May 29, the fest moves down the street to Unsmoke Artspace (1137 Braddock Ave., Braddock). Metalcore legends Converge headline this show; Burning Love, from Toronto (featuring Chris Colohan of Cursed) and New Hampshire grindcore band Trap Them (ex-Backstabbers, Inc.) are in town for the show as well. Local openers are longtime punkers Kim Phuc, d-beat-informed hardcore band Heartless and popular young bucks Code Orange Kids. This one is all-ages as well, but no alcohol is permitted. It's a metalcore matinee, with doors opening at 3 p.m. and music starting at 4. This one's also $14.

Tickets can be purchased at 61B.bigcartel.com or at Mind Cure Records, in Polish Hill -- all pre-sale tickets are will-call, so bring a printout of your email ticket confirmation if you want to be sure nothing goes wrong at the door.

Anything else? Oh yeah.

"Can you print that the fest is not sponsored by Levi's?" organizer Dave Rosenstraus says with a laugh. "Contrary to popular belief."
