Talking Books @ Downtown & Business

Join us for our discussion of Yaa Gyasi’s 2016 novel Homegoing (DB 84732). In the 1700s, half sisters Esi and Effia are born in Ghana without knowing each other. Effia marries a wealthy Englishman, while Esi is imprisoned in the dungeon of the castle where Effia lives, before she is shipped to America and sold into slavery. Their descendants witness history. Homegoing (DB 84732) is available on BARD as well as through our talking book service. Call 1.800.242.0586 to request a copy or for more information. R.S.V.P.s are appreciated: 1-800-242-0586
