I was confused as to why a US Attorney with a very good conviction rate and a record of taking on extra responsibilities was being criticized for a relatively few 'high-profile' cases, including obscenity charges against a serial abuser of women, who most have never heard of.

That is, until I read that Ms Buchanan is considering the indictment of Democrat US Representative John Murtha, already known as a thoroughly corrupt and unprincipled man who willingly gave aid and comfort to our enemies on the battlefield.

Then the purpose of this article became clear.

These flimsy allegations of 'grandstanding' will be used to dissuade Ms Buchanan from indicting Murtha. Failing that, the media will undermine her with these talking points.

As a last resort, Obama will use this and other information, true or not, to dismiss Buchanan or hand Murtha's case off to a more tractable political hack prosecutor.

Interfering with the machinery of justice is nothing new for Democrats.

Don't forget Clinton's firing of nearly every US Attorney upon taking office. One of the prosecutors was investigating Democrat Congressman Dan Rostenkowski for fraud and it was common knowledge that a decision to indict would be made within 30 days.

Rostenkowski would later be pardoned by Clinton after US Attorney Stephens was sacked in Clinton's purge and his relief indicted the congressman.

During Clinton's perjury and obstruction scandal it was revealed that Attorney General Janet Reno interfered in an objective system randomly assigning cases to judges to steer certain cases to her preferred judges.

History repeats itself...often with the aid of a few good liberal media hacks.
