Ron Stallworth

Forty-something years ago, Ron Stallworth made history with a truly unbelievable story. As the first African-American police officer in the Colorado Police Department, he infiltrated a new Ku Klux Klan chapter by answering a newspaper ad looking for new members but sending a white officer in his place. Stallworth went on to write a book about it called Black Klansman, which was adopted into a Spike Lee joint in 2018 called BlacKkKlansman. No matter how many times you hear/read about it, the story doesn't get any less crazy, but it might help to hear from Stallworth himself, when he tells his story at Elsie H. Hillman Auditorium.
