It didn't take too long for me to start shouting at the TV, "Would you people please stop jabbering about stuff we don't care about and let us listen to the damn music?"
Fortunately there's a companion CD, with all the new performances (Dianne Reeves, Joe Lovano, Bill Charlap, and the incomparable Hank Jones), and it turns out there's some pretty good music under the chatter.
