As a person who actually saw this show, I wonder if this reviewer listened to a thing the actors said. For one, Creon is made King after two brothers, Polyneices and Eteocles, kill each other over ownership of the kingdom - an essential part of the story. And the show is less about whether or not a cool head or warm heart triumphs; it is a battle between the force of man and God, human law and a higher moral law. There was literally a good 20 minutes spent elaborating on this in the play, and it makes me question whether or not Robert Isenberg understood the play well enough to espouse such harsh views on the director and concept.
