Get ready to watch out for Pittsburgh landmarks and exclaim every time you see one of your actor friends in a retro getup. A teaser trailer for the second season of the locally-shot Netflix series Mindhunter just dropped, and it promises more of the true-crime procedural creepiness that made its debut such a hit.

Streaming starting Aug. 16, the new season follows the three main characters – FBI agents Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) and Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff), and psychologist Dr. Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) – as they continue their quest to solve current murders by interviewing and profiling imprisoned serial killers. The series covers high-profile cases from the 1996 book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, and depicts real-life serial killers, including Ed Kemper, portrayed in a breakout role by Cameron Britton.

The series has been shot in and around Pittsburgh in places like Oakmont and Swissvale, and the 31st Street Studios building in the Strip District. Other locations include Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pa., McKeesport, Kittanning, and Greensburg, as well as in the West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundsville, W. Va.

Since the second season was announced on Nov. 2017, fans have been speculating on which serial killers would appear as characters. The new season will focus on the Atlanta Child Murders, a series of killings between 1979 and 1981 targeting African-American children, teenagers, and adults. The teaser also reveals an appearance by Charles Manson (Damon Herriman, who also plays the late cult leader and murderer in Quentin Tarantino’s new film Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood) and provides a glimpse of someone playing a spot-on David Berkowitz, aka Son of Sam.
