Two events are flooding social media timelines in Pittsburgh: The Grammys and Pittsburgh Very Own show at Mr. Smalls Theatre.
At the Grammy awards, country music duo Dan + Shay, which features Pittsburgh native Dan Smyers, took home their first ever Grammy.
Along with the win, the "Tequila" singers put on a performance of the Grammy-winning song that blew the audience away.
Mac Miller fans were outraged after Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy beat out Miller's final studio release, Swimming, for Best Rap Album. This was the first time Miller had ever been nominated for a Grammy.
So the Grammy’s really invited Mac Miller’s parents just for Cardi to win the Grammy?¿ pic.twitter.com/NHEiq6YHBP— malaki ☕️ (@coloredtweets) February 11, 2019

Swimming by @MacMiller was the best rap album of the year. It doesn’t need a Grammy to prove that— Lucii 👽 (@LuciitheAlien) February 11, 2019
Another Pittsburgh loss, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra was nominated for best orchestral performance and best-engineered album, but failed to win in either category.
Congratulations to the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Andris Nelsons on their two Grammy wins tonight! 🤩👏🥳 👊 https://t.co/9AEoy01Wbh— PSO Musicians (@PSOMusicians) February 11, 2019
On a positive Pittsburgh note, Saturday night local music lovers packed Mr. Smalls Theatre in support of Clara Kent, Benji., Mars Jackson, and Isaiah Small for the Pittsburgh's Very Own concert.

I am still riding the vibe from this show. A dream turned real. Thank you @MrSmallsTheatre for having us!
Much love to my brother @AvatarBenji for being a light, @MarSJackSon for bringing that real Pittsburgh Shit, and @IsaiahJCSmall for being damn rockstar. pic.twitter.com/AGNBIijLME
I’ll state some FACTS. Last night was amazing and the energy from everyone was OFF THE TOP ROPE. Some might downplay the strength of art and creativity in the city of Pittsburgh, but we got this shit on lock. So proud of @MarSJackSon @AvatarBenji @IamClaraKent @IsaiahJCSmall— Clay mccloskey (@Clay_McCloskey) February 10, 2019
Full house last night @MrSmallsTheatre witnessed a fantastic concert from Pittsburgh’s own rising stars @AvatarBenji, @MarSJackSon, @IamClaraKent and Isaiah Small. Big, diverse crowd served notice that folks are paying attention to the next wave of talent coming up! https://t.co/pBO611JAL0— Jimmy Saal (@AtypicalArts) February 10, 2019
Vinyl listeners should also get ready to stock up. Juke Records, which has been around since 2016, is closing its doors for good this summer.

And finally, Pittsburgh music blog account, Hugh Shows, is looking to start a discussion about the state of the music scene in Pittsburgh and is asking for feedback, ideas and more.

That's all for today. Check back next week for another edition of #MusicMonday. Here's a fun Grammy parody to get you through the rest of your week.
