Mr. Harris has a strong academic background in civic policy and planning, a history of civic action and activism on behalf of Pittsburgh and of progressive policies, and a strong academic and practical background in business. He's running as a third party candidate for mayor, which is why you didn't see him on the Democratic ballot (he had to re-register as an independent to run "third party").
