Farewell, Arlen Specter. Good and faithful servant. You did a lot of good for Pennsylvania. You did a lot of good for the United States. Though you were of a different party than I for most of your career, I always voted for you. You always made sense to me. I will miss you. I think many in our state and country will miss you. At least when you talked, people listened... unlike Joe Sestak, who was so boring in his victory speech that the network coverage broke away in the middle... went back to their analysis chatter. That can't be good, a Senator representing us, that nobody wants to listen to... oh dear!!
Assuming Rothfus consolidates all the Republican vote (bringing in those who voted for Mary Beth) and he doesn't say something totally stupid like "God told me Obama is a muslim", there may be enough (4.5%) disenchanted Democrats supporting Rothfus in November that Altmire may be ousted. After all what's the difference between Altmire and Rothfus to a progressive Democrat? Nothing at all (except perhaps a score to settle).
