Pittsburgh is very much behind the times in its recycling program. Only this year have they began to recycle paper. Many other cites across the US provide bins for recycling. Often there are two or more types of bins provided to allow self-sorting by residents. The sorted recycled material provided the city with an increase in the amount the city gets paid per unit of recycled material, fully paying for the bins.
Let's see city government eliminate the need for the horrible blue plastic bags. Pittsburgh should be a leader in eco-friendly solutions and be an example to so many other cities in the midwest/northeast US.
