Other Music

When: Sun., May 6, 8-10 p.m. 2018

Imarhan means “the ones I care about,” which makes sense given the band was formed by a group of friends. Sound Series and Pandemic will be hosting Imarhan at the Andy Warhol Museum tonight, and as you immerse yourself in the music you can expect a unique blend of pan-African rhythms with roots in traditional Tuareg music, paired with dry guitar sounds and catchy pop melodies. Its February 2018 release Temet is an exploration of Imarhan’s sound through new musical lenses like funk, disco, rock and jazz, making for a delightfully fascinating and distinct blend. - Meg Fair
