Coaching starts in the home not on the high school or college playing field. However, with a closed mouth and an open hear, an athlete that was uncoached as a child, can be coached as a young adult if they have a true will to throw back the negative cards that they have been dealt and choose to succeed. In the case of Brandon James, he truly has a strong will and desire to succeed. How do I know this, I know this because my son and Brandon have been friends since their freshman year in high school. I've watched them be each other's keeper. Where one was weak the other was strong. Brandon has always listened to words of wisdom and has learned who is for him and who is not. In a conversation I told Brandon that I had no doubt in my mind that he was well equipped to be successful because he refused to keep the hand that he was dealt. I am pleased to say that although Brandon did not recieve an athletic scholarship, both he and Ric will soon be off to college soon on the "Buddy System" They're even thinking about playing ball again.
