Global Legacies of 1968 keynote lecture

Pitt’s University Center for International Studies celebrates the 50th anniversary of the year that changed the world—1968. Todd Gitlin, professor of journalism and sociology and chair of the PhD program in communications at Columbia University, will discuss “The Ambiguous Consequences of a Failed Revolution.” The author of 16 books, his forthcoming novel, The Opposition, is excerpted in the January/February edition of The Smithsonian.
