"an ability to work with Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, county executive Dan Onorato, and state Senator Wayne Fontana"
Surely, it was just an oversight if no one mentioned an ability or desire to work closely with Councilwoman Rudiak. That would truly be shocking, as she's the only one who seems to have an interest in getting anything done in South Pittsburgh, rather than just playing political games.
There's been no bigger proponent of the Mon-Fayette Monstrosity than Onorato. The fact that he hedged on his answer--claiming certain caveats before he would support it--is insulting, disingenuous, and a reminder that we can't trust anything that comes out of his mouth.
My point is that building websites is a professional service. Someone who builds a website doesn't write policy, anymore than a candidate's dishwasher-repair-person does.
I heard that the person who sometimes delivers pizzas to the Acklin campaign headquarters voted for Santorum. Maybe you can work on that connection too?
Acklin's answer on the Steel-City Stonewall questionnaire does not strike me as particularly "anti-choice." Is that really a fair characterization?

As a lawyer, I have read and studied the Roe v. Wade decision. I believe it strikes a balance between protecting the interest of the state and ensuring the safeties and freedoms of its citizens. Though I am personally opposed to abortion, as Mayor I would not work to undermine the law as it stands today.
This, I believe, puts me in the company of most Pittsburghers and most Americans: wanting to reduce the number of abortions. Unlike Luke Ravenstahl, who voted against them when he was a member of Pittsburgh City Council, I fully support the creation of bubble zones around health clinics and doctors offices. While protesters have a right to have their voices heard, public safety should always take precedence.

Matt, I don't think that you've got much credibility when it comes to saying what mattered and what didn't in that election, based on the results. Especially considering your continued mis-characterization of the district, your opponents campaigns, and the race.
