Chatham Baroque: Handel’s Gloria

This holiday concert explores George Frideric Handel and the Italian influences that shaped him. Major works include Handel’s youthful Italian work Gloria; a Christmas cantata by Alessandro Scarlatti; and sacred works from Claudio Monteverdi’s collection Selva morale e spirituale. With Pascale Beaudin (soprano), David Walker (theorbo and baroque guitar), and a rollicking ensemble of strings and plucked continuo.
