When I received my abortion the only thing I felt was relief. Relief that it was over, the decision was made and now I could go on with my life. Never did I feel depressed or anxious or engage in risk-taking behaivor due to the abortion. There often lingering issues post-abortion that may have nothing to do with the procedure itself. Personally, speaking I had to deal with a boyfriend who at first denied that he got me pregnant and then refused to come with me to the clinic. I had to deal with sudden debt because I had to pay for the procedure out of my own pocket. And of course, it is always a traumatic experience to brave a horde of yelling anti-abortion demonstrators just to enter the clinic. I absolutely needed support after experiencing this set of circumstances, but do I regret the abortion? Never.
