When: Sun., March 25, 4:30-6 p.m. 2018
As part of Carnegie Mellon University’s International Film Festival, “Beauty and the Dogs” follows Mariam, a young Tunisian woman, who meets the mysterious Youssef at a student party and leaves with him. The carefree evening turns into a nightmare when Mariam is violated by a group of cops. Taking place over one night and presented in only nine shots, Mariam fights for resources, her rights, and her dignity. Can there be justice when power and the law are on the side of her tormentors? A discussion will follow.
