Anne Frank: The Literary, Historical & Musical Legacy

When: Sun., Jan. 29, 3-4:30 p.m. 2017

This event will closely explore both Anne and her diary’s place in history, in conjunction with the MCP’s upcoming performance of Annelies, the first authorized musical setting of Anne Frank’s Diary. Led by author Helen Faye Rosenblum and historian and Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh Director Lauren Bairnsfather, the dialogue will examine the historical context of Anne Frank and her life in hiding in German-occupied Netherlands, and the challenges and opportunities provided by the transformation of literature and narrative into music.
