My fiancé and I (both young) bought our house in southside 2 years ago, and we knew exactly what we were getting into by moving into the neighborhood. Sure Southside has some problems that need some attention, but the city should already be providing these services! Our taxes are supposed to be paying for street cleaning, a police presence, and beautification. They sure don't have any problem providing these services to Shadyside and Squirrel Hill. The city should embrace the growth and success of our neighborhood and provide it some support!! We should not be levied an extra tax to pay for services that should already be taken care of!
