College can be overwhelming. Recognize this, but don’t let it bring you down. Take a deep breath and get ready to tackle all of your tasks. Try meditating.
Address what tasks are most important and need to be handled ASAP. But don’t let this give you an excuse to procrastinate on other projects; work on them little by little every day.
3. Take a break
Often you will get caught up in exams and assignments, but don’t forget to have fun. As cliché as it sounds, college really is one of the best times of your life, so go grab lunch with your friends.
4. Work out
Exercise has been proven to reduce stress. It will get your body moving and your mind off your work for a little while. Take a walk around campus, or try yoga.
Planners and agendas are your best friends. They will help you keep up with your priorities, appointments, work schedules and social functions.
Take a nap. Sometimes your brain needs a break. When you wake up, you’ll be able to focus better. Studying before sleeping helps you retain more information.
7. Switch it up
Not everyone can focus in a dorm room when studying. Find out in which environment you are most productive. Change locations, clean your room, plug in your headphones, or turn off the TV.
8. Check in
Make sure you’re getting enough sleep, eating right and exercising. You don’t have your mom over your shoulder anymore to make sure you’re eating all your vegetables.
9. Wake up early
Yes, it’s hard, but if you set your alarm 15 minutes before you would normally get up, it could change your whole outlook on the day.
Why did you come to college? What is your end goal? Remember why you started, and know that you are one step closer to reaching your goals!
