At the beginning of Jazz Appreciation Month, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has announced the lineup for its fourth annual Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival, which will take place June 20-22 this year, a little later in June than it's been in past years.
Headlining this year's festival is Dianne Reeves, a lauded jazz vocalist who's been active for 30 years, and recently released a new album, Beautiful Life.
Also featured at the free festival: Sean Jones playing with Dwayne Dolphin and Fred Wesley; a tribute to Art Blakey featuring The Messenger Legacy; recent Grammy-winners Snarky Puppy; Nancy Harms; Thomas Wendt; Joe Locke; Brandee Younger; Raul Midon; Gregory Porter (fresh off another local show for the Trust); and locals Benny Benack III and Emmet Cohen.
Also of interest: the Trust and DJ J. Malls will be opening a pop-up vinyl shop, Trust Vinyl, at Ninth Street and Liberty Avenue, during the festival.
