Volunteers at Humane Animal Rescue's North Side and East Liberty shelters have been living like animals this weekend. "The goal of the 2018 Shelter Sleepover is to raise awareness for the thousands of homeless animals that stay in our shelters while they wait for their forever homes. Not only will this event help educate the public on the important services we provide to our community, but it will also help highlight the animals available for adoption," according to a press release from the organization.
Humane Animal Rescue volunteers will be committing to live life a shelter animal for the duration of the event. They will sleep in the kennels, eat according to the feeding schedule, and take bathroom breaks as the animals get them. The event runs through 5 p.m. this evening and if you can't make it out, you can donate here.
CP's Jake Mysliwczyk was on hand Saturday to capture some of the happenings.
