Project End Human Trafficking Holds Fundraiser Tonight

The Project to End Human Trafficking (PEHT) hosts a free gallery exhibit and fundraiser tonight at the Square Cafe in Regent Square.

PEHT was created in 2004 by Mary C. Burke, a professor of psychology at Carlow University, to work toward the prevention and elimination of human trafficking.

The Pittsburgh-based nonprofit has been working in Uganda since 2012, and tonight's guests can view part of that work with local photographer Maranie Staab’s “Women and Children of Uganda” exhibit. Guests may also purchase prints, created by Staab, of the individuals PEHT works with in Uganda.

All proceeds from tonight’s event will aid PEHT's work in Uganda, such as constructing a school dormitory, rehabilitating survivors of the Lord’s Resistance Army, and training local volunteers to combat human trafficking within their communities.

Guests of tonight's event can also free enjoy refreshments.

Tonight’s event takes place from 6-9 p.m. The Square Cafe is located at 1137 S. Braddock Ave, in Regent Square.
