The Twilight Sad, coming to Brillobox in February
John C. Reilly, Marshall Crenshaw and Will Butler of The Arcade Fire are among the notable names in this week's new concert announcements, which we bring you every Tuesday afternoon. Here's a roundup:
At the
Rex Theater, we recently learned that
Marco Benevento and the
Mike Dillon Band will share headlining duties Fri., March 27 ($15-17, on sale now).
New on the calendar at
Club Cafe: Locals Lyndsey Smith & Soul Distribution will headline Thu., Jan. 8 ($7-10, on sale now); the
John Reilly & Friends tour (which features John C. Reilly playing music, joined by Becky Stark and Tom Broussau) Mon., Feb. 2 ($25, on sale now);
Marshall Crenshaw Thu., Feb. 26 ($20, on sale Friday); and
Ellis Paul Thu., March 3 ($14-16, on sale now).
At
Stage AE, the only real new news right now is that
The Gotobeds will be opening the already-sold-out New Year's Eve show with
Girl Talk and
Freeway, which is cool, and the
Sleater-Kinney show set for March 1 is now sold out as well.
The
Anti-Flag show that had been set to happen at Altar Bar will now take place at
Mr. Small's on Fri., Feb. 6; the band will still be playing
The Terror State in its entirety ($18-20, on sale now). New announces include Canadian artist
Lights Thu., March 5 ($16-18, on sale Friday); and
The Devil Wears Prada Wed., April 15 ($19.99-23; on sale Friday).
Two notable new announcements at
Brillobox: Scottish indie rockers
The Twilight Sad Fri., Feb. 27 ($12, on sale Friday) and
Will Butler (of The Arcade Fire) Thu., March 12 ($11-13, on sale now).
At
Altar Bar,
Mod Sun appears Thu., March 5 ($20-50, on sale tomorrow); and
Kristian Nairn — Hodor from HBO's
Game of Thrones — DJs for something called
Rave of Thrones, which I couldn't have made up; that's Thu., April 16 ($18-25, on sale Friday).
And at
Hard Rock Cafe,
Local H appears Sun., Feb. 8 ($12-14, on sale Saturday).
