Still need gifts? Or just want to see how some young artists work?

More than 50 student studios will be open, plus a holiday art sale, a reception and more, at Carnegie Mellon University’s seventh annual Open Studio event.

The School of Art event, which runs 5-10 p.m., includes studio tours of spaces used by both undergraduate and graduate students. The art sale includes finished works from students across all years. All that’s on the third and fourth floors of the College of Fine Arts building.

There’ll also be presentations by students from the school’s interdisciplinary BMA program (CFA Room 303). From 7-10 p.m., on the CFA lower level south stairwell, there’s a collaborative installation by those students.

A reception, with music by WRCT DJs and live improvisational jazz by the trio Ada, takes place starting at 6:30 on the building’s fourth floor.

Here’s the event announcement, including video profiles of a few artists.

Pictured here is Jessica Aguero’s studio from last year’s event.

The event is free, but you’re asked to RSVP on Facebook.
