If you’ve been following that Pittsburgh-set documentary series The Chair, on STARZ, here’s your chance to catch the duelling movies it’s documenting on the big screen.
Both Hollidaysburg, directed by Anna Martemucci, and Not Cool, directed by Shane Dawson, open tonight at Waterworks Cinemas, in Waterworks Mall.
Hollidaysburg will screen daily at 7:10 p.m., and Not Cool at 9:25 daily, both at least through next Wednesday.
The films are two versions of the same original script. As part of a competition to win $250,000 based on audience voting, the two filmmakers were given a budget and required to shoot the film in Pittsburgh this past winter.
The script is a coming-of-age story that YouTube comedy star Dawson interpreted as a raunchy comedy, and writer and actress Martemucci did as more of a bittersweet story.
Here’s more about The Chair. The series was co-produced by Point Park University. Other producers included veteran Hollywood producer Chris Moore and Zachary Quinto, the Pittsburgh-native actor and film producer.
The series airs at 10 p.m. Saturdays into November.
