Depreciation Lands Museum

Pittsburgh’s northern suburbs were originally “depreciation lands” — real estate offered to Revolutionary War soldiers in lieu of almost-worthless cash. Open Sunday afternoons through November, this museum captures the 19th-century community those soldiers built — complete with an 1803 loghouse, working blacksmith shop and other fixtures of frontier life.
