Alcohol plus crafting supplies: What could possibly go wrong?
Find out Thursday night as the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust hosts its Highmark First Night Puppet Making Happy Hour.
It’s a creative workshop for adults (21 and over) to craft giant puppets to be part of the big First Night.
The puppets might look like this, or at least be this big:
The workshop is free and led by Pittsburgh’s resident puppet queen, Cheryl Capezzuti. It runs 5:30-8 p.m., at the Trust Arts Education Center, 805-807 Liberty Ave., Downtown. Register here.
And if you’re coming straight from the office, bring a change of clothes: There will be glue.
If you’ve got kids who’d like this sort of thing, a better option might be a Saturday workshop for adults and children. That one’s 11 a.m.-2 p.m., same place, also free, also led by Capezzuti. Participants in this Dec. 8 event are also invited to be in the First Night parade with their creations. Register for this one here.
