Cyclists rally to support injured rider

Cyclists and advocates are organizing a fundraiser for Colin Albright, a rider whose throat was slit in an alleged road-rage incident last week.

The fundraiser will be held at 5 p.m. Sat., Sept. 15, at OTB Bicycle Café, 2518 E. Carson St., South Side.

Albright, a mechanic at Pro Bikes, was attacked last week. Police have said that Albright says he may have cut a car off at a red light on Water Street and Hot Metal Street in the South Side. According to police in an account in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, an occupant of the car followed Albright up a staircase near Harcum Way and attacked him, slitting his throat.

We’ve contacted police for an update on the case and Albright, and we’ll post it here when hear back. Information is also available on the event's Facebook page.
