Pittsburghers for Public Transit will host a Build Your Own Bus art event Saturday in preparation for their bus tour to Harrisburg next week to advocate for mass transit funding.
The event Saturday will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at Assemble, 5125 Penn Ave., Garfield. Those interested should bring a poster board and/or a box. Art supplies will be provided.
Participants will craft buses out of materials to be used in the "Rumble in the Rotunda" rally Monday. Buses from Pittsburgh will leave at 7:30 a.m. from Freedom Corner in the Hill District and outside the Hillman Library in Oakland to head to Harrisburg on Monday. Spots are still available and registration is open until noon, Saturday.
You can register for the bus rally here. Or, to register by phone, call PPT Community Organizer Helen Gerhardt at 412-518-7387.
